Which Air Conditioner Should You Choose for Your Home? New AC installation services in Qatar

Which Air Conditioner Should You Choose for Your Home? Differences Between AC Brands & New AC Installation Service in Qatar
Choosing the right air conditioner for your home can be confusing. There are many brands available in Qatar, and each brand has different prices, features, quality, and durability.
First, the size of the air conditioner depends mainly on your room size.
Before choosing a brand, you should make sure you choose the correct AC capacity for your room.
How to Choose the Right AC Size for Your Room?
As a general guide:
Up to 100 sq. ft. → 1 ton AC
100–150 sq. ft. → 1.5 ton AC
150–220 sq. ft. → 2 ton AC
220–300 sq. ft. → 2.5 ton AC
300–400 sq. ft. → 3 ton AC
These are general estimates. The required AC capacity can also depend on ceiling height, sunlight exposure, number of windows, insulation, number of people in the room, and other factors.
To measure your room, simply measure the length × width of the room to calculate the area in square feet.
Once you have selected the correct AC size, the next question is: Which brand should you choose?
When it comes to AC brands, you have many choices depending on your needs and budget.
As an AC technician, today I am going to share some of our on-site experience with different air conditioner brands in Qatar.
Note: The opinions below are based on my personal experience working with air conditioners. They are not laboratory or technical tests, so I may be wrong. Please do your own research before buying an air conditioner.
1. Gree Air Conditioner
Gree is a good choice if you are looking for a reasonably priced air conditioner with good cooling performance.
In my experience, Gree air conditioners produce very cold air compared with many other air conditioners.
They also have a nice design and are widely available.
You don’t usually have to do much repair work if you maintain the AC properly.
For people looking for a good-budget AC in Qatar, Gree can be a good option.
2. O General Air Conditioner
O General is one of my preferred choices when it comes to heavy-duty air conditioners.
The air is cold, and the units are built for long-term and heavy use.
The main disadvantage is the price. O General air conditioners are more expensive than many budget and mid-range brands.
In my experience, they can last around 7–10 years or more with proper maintenance.
Over the years, you may still need cleaning, servicing, or replacement of some parts because no air conditioner lasts forever without maintenance.
If your priority is long-term use and strong cooling, and your budget allows it, O General is worth considering.
3. Daikin and Mitsubishi Air Conditioners
Daikin and Mitsubishi are two brands that I personally think are underrated.
They are built very well and have strong-quality bodies and components. In my experience, these companies have thought carefully about long-term customers and reliability.
Their compressors are designed for heavy use over a long period.
The air is very cold, but compared with some other ACs, you may feel that they produce less airflow.
However, the room still becomes cold because the cooling performance is very good.
I sometimes wonder why people choose other brands more often instead of these two. My assumption is that the price is one of the main reasons.
In my experience, they can last around 7–10 years or more, depending on usage and maintenance.
The spare parts and major components are also strong.
These two brands are my personal favorites. ❤️
If your priority is quality, durability, strong cooling, and long-term use, I would definitely consider Daikin or Mitsubishi.
4. Samsung, LG and Hisense
Samsung, LG and Hisense are what I would consider mid-budget air conditioner choices.
They offer medium-to-good quality at a price that is usually more affordable than some premium brands.
Many models come with a 5-year compressor warranty, although the exact warranty depends on the model, seller and warranty terms.
In my experience, they are better than some of the cheaper Chinese brands and can last around 5–7 years or more with proper maintenance.
However, if the AC is not maintained properly, there is always a possibility of parts becoming damaged over time.
For someone looking for a balance between price, quality and features, these brands can be worth considering.
5. Frego, TCL, GreenAir and Hommer
There are also several lower-budget AC brands available in Qatar, such as Frego, TCL, Granedoo and Hommer .
These brands are mainly suitable for people who don’t want to spend too much money on an air conditioner but also don’t want to replace it very frequently.
One advantage is that some models come with a 5-year compressor warranty, depending on the brand and model.
This can protect you from a major compressor expense during the warranty period, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty conditions.
However, from my experience, the possibility of other parts becoming damaged more frequently is one of the disadvantages of choosing cheaper air conditioners.
If your budget is limited, these brands can still be an option, especially if you are renting a property or don’t want to invest heavily in an AC.
Which AC Brand Should You Choose?
There is no single air conditioner brand that is perfect for everyone.
Your decision should depend on your:
Room size
AC capacity required
Budget
Expected years of use
Cooling requirements
Electricity consumption
Availability of spare parts
Warranty
Maintenance requirements
If you want a budget-friendly AC, Gree can be a good option.
If you want a heavy-duty and long-lasting AC, O General is worth considering.
If you want premium quality and durability, Daikin and Mitsubishi are among my favorite choices.
If you want a mid-range option, Samsung, LG and Hisense can be considered.
And if your main priority is keeping the initial cost low, brands such as Frego, TCL, GreenAir and Homer may be options to research.
Most importantly, don’t choose an AC only because of the brand name. Make sure you choose the correct capacity for your room and have it installed properly.
